CUPRA Terramar: A New Performance SUV Hitting Showrooms Soon
CUPRA’s latest SUV, the Terramar, is set to arrive in November, offering a sleek combination of power and technology. Measuring 4519 mm in length, 1584 mm in height, and 1863 mm in width, the Terramar offers a range of five different powertrains. These include TSI petrol engines, eTSI mild hybrids, and next-gen plug-in hybrids, with power output ranging from 150 hp to 272 hp. All models feature a 7-speed automatic transmission, with the more powerful all-wheel-drive versions equipped with robust engines for enhanced off-road performance.
The high-performance VZ version of the Terramar comes with the top engine options: a 265 hp (195 kW) petrol engine or a 272 hp (200 kW) plug-in hybrid system. The latter combines a 1.5L TSI engine with an electric motor and a 19.7 kWh battery pack, providing up to 120 km of electric range on a single charge.
Inside, the Terramar boasts a modern, tech-forward interior, including a digital cockpit and a 12.9-inch central display. Connectivity is enhanced with a wireless Full Link system and 15W wireless charging. Sustainability is also emphasized with seat upholstery made from recycled materials, aligning with CUPRA’s eco-friendly approach.
The SUV’s Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) ensures smooth handling, with multiple driving modes like Comfort, Performance, and Off-road. Safety and convenience are boosted by features such as adaptive cruise control and predictive travel assist. Production of the Terramar will take place at Audi’s Győr plant in Hungary.
