Bentley Torcal First Edition combines 653 kW with exceptional luxury
1/13 Bentley has unveiled the First Edition to mark the launch of its first all-electric SUV, the Torcal, combining the range’s most powerful powertrain with Mulliner trim and an exceptionally extensive standard equipment list. The 653 kW luxury car accelerates to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, but its main selling point lies in the cabin details.
Sports car performance in a luxury SUV body
The First Edition uses the same dual-motor powertrain as the Torcal S. With Launch Control engaged, the system develops 653 kW and 1350 Nm, enabling a top speed of 260 km/h. The standard Torcal offers 604 kW and 1194 Nm and accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The First Edition cuts that time by half a second but adds no extra power over the S version.
The special edition is distinguished by 22-inch two-tone wheels, Graphene Grey brake callipers and carbon-fibre aerodynamic components. These feature on the front bumper, door mirrors, side skirts and rear diffuser. First Edition badges complete the exterior.
Mulliner luxury extends to the smallest details
Inside, Bentley focuses on craftsmanship and personalisation. Seats with a distinctive stitching pattern are complemented by illuminated treadplates, gloss carbon-fibre trim panels and deep-pile floor mats. Colour Specification offers eight accent colours, two colour combinations curated by Mulliner and the option of a three-colour interior. Buyers can also choose full leather trim and contrast stitching.
Standard equipment includes Wellness front seats, whose massage system caters not only to the back and shoulders but also to the legs. The outer rear seats gain ventilation and upgraded head restraints. Power-operated front and rear doors and the Frosted Diamond Switchable Sunroof, a glass roof with adjustable transparency, emphasise the luxurious user experience. Audio comes courtesy of a 1780 W Naim for Bentley sound system. Its 28 speakers, seat-integrated vibration elements and Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 technology create an immersive sound environment with ambitions extending well beyond a conventional car audio system.
Porsche technology meets Bentley luxury
The Torcal uses the Volkswagen Group’s 800-volt electrical architecture and shares its technological underpinnings with the Porsche Cayenne Electric.
A battery with a usable capacity of 113 kWh provides a WLTP range of up to 600 km. Maximum DC charging power reaches 400 kW, adding approximately 160 km of range in seven minutes under ideal conditions.
In technical terms, Bentley must compete primarily with Porsche’s flagship electric models, but the First Edition’s real value lies in its finish and comfort features. Its buyers are paying not just for acceleration but for exclusivity. Bentley has yet to disclose European pricing or production volume for the First Edition. In the UK, the standard Torcal starts at approximately £173,000, so the special edition is expected to be significantly more expensive.
