Last Saturday in Kohtla-Järve, an unusual incident occurred when a vehicle owner started the engine for the car to warm up and went to the store at the same time. However, upon returning from the store, instead of a warm car, the owner found an empty parking space, as the unattended running vehicle attracted the attention of passersby, who drove away with it.
Fortunately, the police found the vehicle a few hours later, and the owner got their car back intact, but next time they might lose the car altogether.
Although the crisp frost outside makes a warm car seem ideal for driving, one should never leave their vehicle or any other property unattended. Thieves are always on the lookout, and they will certainly seize any opportunity presented to them.
The most important thing in preventing car theft is to lock the vehicle doors, keep the car keys in a secure place, and never leave them unattended. The police will clarify the exact circumstances of the incident and the perpetrators in the course of the criminal investigation.
