We also have reckless drivers who would rather create a dangerous situation than allow others to drive safely
Of course, it could be argued that the situations shown in the videos started sometime earlier and only their climaxes were shown on screen. But it is certainly true that excessive jerking can lead to an accident, or in the worst case, a serious one.
Time and time again, the police come across situations where two road users fail to resolve a disagreement in a reasonable way, resulting in either a dangerous situation or an accident.
By trying to “teach” the other road user, you not only put yourself in danger but also endanger fellow road users. One of the basic rules of the road is that road users must be courteous and considerate of others, and refrain from any behavior that could obstruct traffic, endanger people, damage property or the environment.
Breaches of the rules of the road by a driver of a motor vehicle that cause damage to property or injury to another person’s health through negligence are punishable by a fine of up to 300 penalty units (i.e., EUR 1,200), a detention order, or the suspension of driving for up to six months.
A driver of a motor vehicle who commits a road traffic offense and causes a traffic hazard is liable to a fine of up to 100 penalty units (i.e., €400) or disqualification from driving for up to six months.
Traffic is a place where even small mistakes can have severe consequences. That is why an offense committed intentionally often leads to a driving disqualification, even if there is no previous offense. There is no excuse for deliberately endangering the life and health of a fellow driver. Traffic is not a place to vent one’s emotions.
Drive safely!
