GT Speed celebrates 20 years of Continental success

Bentley Motors concluded the 20th-anniversary festivities for its renowned Continental GT with the unveiling and immediate sale of an exclusive Continental GT Speed, crafted as a singular masterpiece. This exceptional vehicle draws its inspiration from the original 2003 production Continental GT, marking a remarkable milestone for the brand. The focal point of this endeavor was VIN20001, the inaugural GT produced at the Crewe facility. Displayed alongside the 2023 iteration at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, an event that also commemorated its two decades and remained an integral part of Monterey Car Week.

The inception of the Continental GT in 2003 was a pivotal moment that reshaped the Bentley identity for the modern era. It ushered in a tenfold surge in sales and set the standard for opulent and contemporary grand tourers. The debut production car, a centerpiece of Bentley’s revitalized Heritage Collection, boasted an exterior adorned in Cypress Green paint. Inside, it featured Saddle leather upholstery coupled with Burr Walnut veneer. This exclusive 2023 Continental GT Speed pays homage to its distinguished predecessor through a specially curated interior design.

While the fundamental elements of Saddle leather and Burr Walnut veneer bridge both cabins, the third-generation model incorporates refined updates that subtly amplify the original theme. The rich Saddle hue is elegantly complemented by accents in ‘Special Green’ hide, harmoniously matched with contrast stitching in the same hue throughout. The fascia and waist rails exhibit two distinct veneer finishes – open pore Dark Burr Walnut juxtaposed with high gloss Dark Burr Walnut. A painted pinstripe in Cypress elegantly links the interior to the exterior, creating a cohesive aesthetic.

This distinctive vehicle boasts a comprehensive array of features, including the Blackline, Touring, and Styling Specifications. These collective attributes bring forth polished black exterior brightware, an array of technical enhancements, and carbon fiber elements such as the front splitter, side skirts, diffuser, and a discreet boot lip spoiler. The 22” Sports Wheels are adorned with unique Dark Grey Satin finish Mulliner wheel badges and self-leveling features. The interior exudes grandeur with Naim for Bentley audio and the Bentley Rotating Display. Personalized treadplates proudly exhibit the inscription, ’20 years of the Continental GT by Bentley Mulliner’. Outlines depicting the 2003 and 2023 Continental GTs grace the fascia, center console, and outer sill.

This extraordinary one-of-a-kind vehicle has already found its buyer, who was presented with the keys at The Quail. It stands as the pinnacle of a four-month-long series of events and activities commemorating this significant juncture in Bentley’s illustrious history.
