Ferrari Tailor Made 812 Competizione

During Monterey Car Week, at a special event at Casa Ferrari, a unique Ferrari 812 Competizione was unveiled. This one-of-a-kind car was designed with the concept of a blank canvas in mind, which is how Ferrari’s Styling Centre begins the creative process for each new model.

The car chosen for this special Tailor Made concept is part of a limited series of only 999 Ferrari 812 Competiziones. This exclusive series is meant for collectors and enthusiasts who love twelve-cylinder engines. It’s marked by a special plaque inside that reminds everyone of its unique inspiration.

The Tailor Made 812 Competizione shown today was made for Ferrari North America and will be auctioned at the Ferrari Gala in New York City on October 17. This gala celebrates the Ferrari community and their passion for the brand. The proceeds from the auction will go to charity, supporting education projects that are a core part of Ferrari’s charitable efforts.

Creating the unique patterns and designs for this car took more than a year of collaboration between the Styling Centre and the Tailor Made team. They wanted to balance technical excellence with artistic creativity based on drawings from Ferrari’s Chief Design Officer, Flavio Manzoni. The car was inspired by the iconic yellow cards that Ferrari designers use to sketch out their initial ideas.

The car is painted in a matte Giallo Tristrato, and the lines and shapes imagined by the designer are highlighted in matte Nero DS Sketch. The car’s exterior showcases design elements like the carbon fiber blade on the front bonnet, the louvres on the side, and the vortex generators on the rear screen.

The same concept continues inside the car. The new-generation Alcantara® covering the cockpit is made from 65 percent recycled polyester. It’s adorned with design sketches embroidered directly onto the material using an innovative technique. This is quite special since Ferrari typically uses leather for this kind of customization. The interior is completed with black trilobal Superfabric® for the carpet and rear wall.

The 812 Competizione is made for collectors and purists who seek maximum performance. Innovative technology has taken its performance to new heights, making it ideal for the Ferrari Tailor Made program, which offers many customization options.
