Up to 1000 hp for the special models Audi RS 6 and RS 7

ABT Sportsline has introduced innovative technology for the special models Audi RS 6 and RS 7 Legacy Edition, taking their performance to new heights. The 4.0-liter bi-turbo engines (DJPB) in these models already pack 603 kW (820 hp, V-max 330 km/h), but with ABT Sportsline’s new system called IWI (Indirect Water/Ethanol-Injection), they can now reach 736 kW (1000 hp) and approximately 1150 Nm.

The IWI system is a key part of this innovation. It’s installed in front of the engine’s two throttle valves and is controlled by electronic control unit. This system works in harmony with the AEC system and utilizes ethanol, a readily available fuel with excellent physical properties.

To activate the IWI system, drivers can use the RS buttons on the steering wheel of the RS 6 LE and RS 7 LE. By holding down the RS button for one second while driving in one of the two RS modes, the additional power becomes instantly available. With the IWI system engaged, the vehicle delivers maximum performance with every push of the accelerator pedal.

To support the 1000 hp conversion, ABT Sportsline has incorporated additional components, including a carbon intake system with larger turbo air intakes and optimized turbochargers. The vehicles also feature special intercoolers with enlarged air intakes in the front apron. The upgrade package includes forged pistons with compression reduction, reinforced connecting rods and piston pins, a sports catalytic converter with a petrol particle filter, an exhaust system, and additional oil coolers.

The IWI system is supplied with a 15-liter tank located in the boot recess. Users can conveniently refill the ABT IWI fluid through the standard fuel filler flap. A single tank filling can cover up to 3000 kilometers, which corresponds to a consumption rate of 0.5 liters per 100 kilometers. The system monitors the fluid level using a level sensor, and users can check the status or the filling level of the IWI tank via the myABT app or in the MMI through Apple CarPlay. Reordering the required ABT IWI fluid is also straightforward through the myABT app, which provides various performance data for the vehicles along with system status information.
