Frontline enters a new era with LE60 and BEE launch

Frontline Cars, a well-known specialist in MG restomods, is introducing its latest vehicles, the LE60 and BEE EV Editions, which are designed to blend tradition with innovation.

The LE60 boasting a V8 engine, making it the most powerful vehicle the company has ever produced. This limited-production model, created to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the MGB and 30 years of Frontline, will be limited to just 30 units worldwide. Key features of the LE60 include a widened body, an all-new 4.8-liter Rover V8 engine generating 375 bhp (triple the power of the original MGB), and an enhanced five-speed gearbox. Its near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution and weight of 1,122 kg provide a thrilling driving experience.

Drawing inspiration from Frontline’s renowned LE50 and Abingdon Editions, the LE60 combines touring and sports car characteristics. To accommodate the powerful 375 bhp engine, the MGB donor car has been re-engineered. This includes a reinforced chassis, a wider body crafted by British Motor Heritage, a robust braking system with six-piston front and four-piston rear alloy brakes, lightweight two-piece brake discs, larger 16-inch Dunlop-style alloy wheels, a limited-slip differential, and a new suspension setup in collaboration with Nitron.

Frontline is embracing the future of driving with its BEE (MGB EV Edition) models, offered in Roadster and Coupe versions. These electrified classics pay homage to Frontline’s heritage while meeting the needs of modern drivers. Featuring a near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution and a lightweight build, starting at just 1,186 kg for the BEE GT, these models provide an engaging driving experience.

What sets Frontline’s BEE models apart is their manual gearbox, which replicates the feel of traditional internal combustion engines. While functioning like a standard manual gearbox, it allows starting and stopping in any gear without stalling. The vehicles are equipped with a Hyper9 100v motor capable of revving to 9,000 rpm and a 40 kWh battery. They can achieve a full charge in just over five hours using a 7 kWh charger through the Type 2 electric charging socket.

Despite their electric powertrains, the BEE models retain the exhilarating driving experience of a Frontline build. They replicate traditional gear changes, offer rev-happy motors, and deliver torque characteristics reminiscent of conventional combustion cars. Frontline will also offer an EV conversion service for existing Frontline customers.

Frontline takes pride in offering a personalized experience for its customers. Customers receive an invitation to visit the Frontline clubhouse in Abingdon, UK, where they engage in in-depth specification discussions and have personalized Aluminum Tub seats and interior adjustments installed. The suspension and steering are meticulously fine-tuned to cater to each owner’s preferences, ensuring a unique driving experience.

Customers can select their preferred exterior and interior colors and explore various customization options, creating a truly personalized driving experience. Since 2012, Frontline has operated an in-house trim shop above the main offices in the workshop, allowing drivers to choose from a range of hides, materials, and finishes and customize seat positions and padding for extra comfort.
