BJT reveals its most advanced trailer ever
British trailer manufacturer Brian James Trailers (BJT) has recently unveiled its new lightweight enclosed trailer, the Race Transporter 7 (RT7), which stands out for its innovation and efficiency. Compared to its predecessor, the RT7 is approximately 200 kg lighter, offering greater carrying capacity for transporting heavier vehicles. This is particularly significant in the United Kingdom, where there is a combined weight limit of 3.5 tons for vehicles and trailers, and considering that cars, especially electric vehicles, are becoming larger and heavier.
The trailer is available in both black and white body colors, and as either a three-axle or two-axle model, with the option to add additional height. For the first time, a remote-controlled electric drive has been introduced, facilitating the movement of the rear door and tilting platform, thereby reducing the need for manual labor.
The trailer’s lighting includes rear, front, and side lights, including reversing lights positioned on the sides. Automatic rear loading lights turn on when the rear door is opened. The standard equipment includes full-length internal strip lights that can be switched between the trailer’s built-in 12V battery or the truck’s power source.
The RT7 features an integrated battery that powers the rear door actuator, electric tilting platform, electric winch, and internal lighting. The battery is equipped with a charger, Bluetooth connectivity, and a visible LED indicator for monitoring the battery’s charge level.
The new trailer also introduces an electric winch with synthetic rope, which is lighter and less damaging than traditional steel wire.
In constructing the trailer, composite materials are used. The floor is made from a new material that is lighter and stronger than traditional floorboards, offering better grip.
The RT7 is now available as a two-axle model in both lengths (5.5 m and 6.0 m) and widths (2.1 m and 2.3 m).
