New Lexus NX to reach Europe with new hybrid powertrains and an all-new interior
The Lexus NX is getting new hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, refreshed exterior styling and an all-new interior. The SUV will make its European public debut at the Nitto ATP Finals tennis tournament in Turin, before going on sale in Europe in spring 2027.
A major update to one of Lexus's key sales pillars
According to Lexus, the new NX will make its European debut at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, Italy, held from 15–22 November. The brand will use the men's professional tennis season finale to introduce the model ahead of its arrival at European dealerships.
The NX is no minor player in the brand's line-up. Only the LBX compact crossover outsells it in Europe. The NX accounted for almost a third of Lexus sales both in 2025 and in the first three quarters of the year covered by the announcement. The update therefore affects a model whose performance has a significant influence on the brand's overall European results.
Powertrains: new hybrid and plug-in hybrid systems; technical specifications are not yet available.
Design: updated exterior and an all-new interior.
European debut: Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, 15–22 November.
European launch: spring 2027; pricing and sales details for individual European markets are not yet known.
Market position: the NX is Lexus's second-best-selling model in Europe, behind the LBX.
Updates span powertrains and interior
New hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains are at the heart of the technical update. Both electrified powertrain options will therefore remain in the range, but the announcement does not yet provide details of their precise configuration or specifications.
Lexus is also changing the NX's exterior styling and creating an all-new interior. The changes therefore cover the car's appearance, cabin and powertrains, but the information available does not provide grounds for describing it as a new generation.
A comparison with the current NX will have to wait for technical specifications. Power, torque, fuel consumption, plug-in hybrid battery capacity and electric range figures are not yet available. Any changes to dimensions or practicality also remain unknown.
European launch timing confirmed, market details still to come
For European buyers, the clearest indication is spring 2027, when the new NX is expected to reach dealerships. The announcement contains no information on pricing, trim levels or market-specific line-ups. The precise launch timing in individual European markets has not been specified either.
The choice of the tennis tournament as the launch venue continues an existing partnership. Lexus is participating in the Nitto ATP Finals as a Platinum Partner and Official Car Partner for the fourth consecutive year, and has worked with the ATP Tour since 2023.
