Fisker Inc. has announced that its all-electric Fisker Ocean has been named the winner of the Best Electric Vehicle award for the 2023 Red Dot Product Design Awards. The Red Dot Design Award is a prestigious international recognition of good design, established in 1955, and evaluated by a jury of over 50 design experts. The Fisker Ocean was evaluated based on four key design qualities, including product function, aesthetics, ease of use, and responsibility/sustainability.
The Fisker Ocean SUV boasts a modern, tech-driven in-car experience, featuring a sleek and futuristic exterior design. The exterior design is characterized by clean surfaces, elegant arcs, and smooth highlights, with a sporty feel and dynamic appearance. The SUV is equipped with larger 22″ wheels, and slim, wrap-around lighting that is integrated into body panels, concealing ADAS sensors and the world’s first digital radar in a consumer vehicle. The California Mode button opens the SolarSky roof and all windows simultaneously, providing a convertible, California feel.
The Fisker Ocean is built at a carbon-neutral facility in Graz, Austria, using carefully selected materials to reduce its environmental impact. The SUV features more than 50 kg of recycled polymers, bio-based content, and other recycled materials. Despite its SUV form factor, the Ocean’s aerodynamic silhouette and low, wide stance enhance its efficiency and contribute to an estimated range of 350 miles (US). The confirmed WLTP range of 707 km/440 miles (UK) is the longest of any battery electric SUV sold in Europe. The SolarSky roof integrates solar panels, providing up to 1,500 miles of solar-powered range per year.
