Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 roars into production

Hennessey just started shipping out their new ride – the VelociRaptor 500 Bronco Raptor, with a whopping 500 bhp! Their engineers, who are experts at making fast cars even faster, tinkered with the SUV’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine to boost power and drivability. They installed a new high-capacity intercooler and a proprietary engine management system tuning to improve charge cooling and intake boost, which increased output. The whole system’s power is rated at 500 bhp and 550 lb-ft of torque, hence the cool name ‘VelociRaptor 500.’

These guys went all out on testing this bad boy in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where they faced some brutal winter conditions, but the upgraded 4×4 with Hennessey’s unique 20-inch alloy wheels and 37-inch off-road tires handled it like a champ. The VelociRaptor 500 package, which starts at $28,950 (not including the base Ford Bronco Raptor), comes with an enhanced air induction system, a high-capacity intercooler with a blow-off valve, and an upgraded engine management system.

Hennessey also spruced up the exterior with custom VelociRaptor bumpers, LED off-road lights, unique Hennessey 10-spoke alloy wheels, and VelociRaptor 500 Bronco badging. The interior features Hennessey’s embroidered head restraints, all-weather floor mats, and a unique build number plaque.

The company put this ride through an intensive period of R&D at their private test track, and they’re so confident in its quality that they’re backing every Bronco build with their comprehensive 3-year/60’000 km warranty.
