Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE: the most innovative and powerful SL of all time
Mercedes-AMG introduces the new pinnacle of the SL series, the SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE. This hybrid car combines a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with an AMG electric drive unit. Together, they produce a total of 600 kW (816 hp) and up to 1420 Nm of torque. This new model is the most powerful in the SL series and the fifth to use AMG E PERFORMANCE hybrid technology.
The SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE offers an impressive driving experience thanks to the quick response of the electric drive and its linear power delivery. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and its top speed reaches 317 km/h. The AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension and active all-wheel steering ensure a balance between comfort and dynamic performance.
The vehicle features a combustion engine driving the front wheels and an electric motor at the rear. The heart of the hybrid drive is the AMG battery pack, developed using Formula 1™ technology. The battery has a capacity of 6.1 kWh, allowing for short electric drives.
The car’s basic operating strategy is derived from the hybrid powertrain of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team. Electric power is always available, ensuring maximum dynamics and efficiency. AMG DYNAMIC SELECT offers eight driving programs, ranging from efficient to dynamic.
The SL 63 S E PERFORMANCE hybrid model’s design emphasizes exclusivity and performance. The interior offers sportiness and comfort, along with a wide range of seat covers and materials. The MBUX multimedia system includes AMG and hybrid-specific functions.
