ID.7: five stars in the Euro NCAP safety rating

Volkswagen’s new electric limousine, the ID.7, has received the highest score in the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) safety test.

Euro NCAP evaluates safety in four categories. The ID.7 achieved a result of 95 percent in the ‘Adult Occupant Protection’ category. The child and pedestrian protection, as well as the standard driver assistance systems categories, also scored well.

The ID.7 received good ratings thanks to its driver assistance systems. Euro NCAP also assesses how automatic emergency braking systems protect pedestrians and cyclists in the event of a potential collision. The ID.7 Pro model is equipped with the following systems:

  • Driver Attention Monitor and Driver Alert System
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Park Assist with Memory Function
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking Front Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring
  • Side Traffic Alert
  • Area View, including a rear-view camera system
  • Dynamic Road Sign Display, etc.

In Germany, every ID.7 is equipped with Car2X technology. This allows the vehicle to communicate with other vehicles and traffic infrastructure, exchanging information about potential hazards.
