The first-ever BMW i7 Protection, the new BMW 7 Series Protection

BMW has introduced a new generation of protection vehicles in the luxury saloon category, utilizing the design of the BMW 7 Series. These models, the BMW i7 Protection and BMW 7 Series Protection, combine top-tier protection features with exceptional ride comfort, spaciousness, advanced equipment, and dynamic performance. The BMW i7 Protection is the world’s first all-electric protection saloon and meets class VR9 protection standards. The protection vehicles are designed to safeguard against firearms, explosives, and even drone attacks. They incorporate the innovative BMW Protection Core, a self-supporting protective structure made from armor steel, and feature specialized glass meeting the highest protection classification.

Both models, manufactured using a meticulous “craft manufacturing” process at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, are set to debut at the IAA Mobility 2023 international motor show in Munich and will be available for delivery from December 2023. The BMW i7 Protection boasts electric all-wheel drive and zero tailpipe emissions, while the BMW 7 Series Protection is equipped with a potent petrol V8 engine and intelligent all-wheel drive.

These protection saloons also offer model-specific chassis technology, Integral Active Steering, and 20-inch light-alloy wheels with exclusive PAX tires for enhanced performance and safety. They feature an array of driver assistance systems, comfort-enhancing features, and various options for exterior and interior customization. The vehicles are operated through the latest generation of BMW iDrive with BMW Curved Display, providing intuitive control over security functions. Overall, these vehicles provide effective protection measures against a variety of attack scenarios, ensuring the safety and comfort of their occupants.
