Brabus builds 34-metre superyacht with nearly 6,000 kW

The Brabus name is usually associated with outrageously powerful Mercedes-AMG models, but this time the Bottrop tuner’s playground is considerably larger. Developed with British yacht manufacturer Sunseeker, the 34-metre Brabus Sunseeker 34M has four diesel engines producing a combined output of nearly 6,000 kW.
This is the first Brabus Masterpiece superyacht, based on Sunseeker’s new 34M model. The tuner focused primarily on the exterior and interior design and materials, while Sunseeker is responsible for the technical platform and shipbuilding.
Four V12 diesels deliver nearly 6,000 kW
The 34M is powered by four MTU 10V 2000 M96L diesel engines, each producing 1,492 kW. Together, that amounts to 5,968 kW, or more than 8,100 hp.
The 34-metre yacht, which is around 7.3 metres wide, reaches more than 20 knots, or over 37 km/h. By automotive standards, that may sound modest, but moving a luxury yacht weighing more than 100 tonnes through the water requires energy on an entirely different scale.
Fuel capacity is 19,000 litres, while 5,000 litres of fresh water can be carried on board.
A familiar world of black inside
While Sunseeker built the yacht, Brabus gave it a distinctive look in keeping with its Masterpiece philosophy. Black and grey tones, carbon fibre, leather and bespoke furniture dominate the yacht.
Brabus calls the interior design the “Black and Bold” concept. The company applies the same approach to its cars: the aim is not discretion, but to make sure the owner and everyone in the harbour immediately knows what it is.
The main deck accommodates the owner’s suite, while four guest cabins are located on the lower deck. Up to ten guests can stay overnight on board. There are also separate quarters for the crew.
The upper deck houses a bar and lounge areas, while a large beach club can be used at the stern. A hydraulic platform makes both swimming and the use of smaller watercraft easier.
This is not a 34-metre car
Technically, one technical point is worth clarifying. Brabus has not suddenly started designing superyachts from scratch. The 34M is built on Sunseeker’s platform, with Brabus adding its own design, materials and Masterpiece finish.
The collaboration itself is not new. Brabus and Sunseeker have previously created special-edition yachts, but the 34M takes the partnership to this size for the first time.
For Brabus, the logic is quite simple. A customer who buys a 662 kW G-Class or a supercar with a four-figure power output may want the same aesthetic in the harbour. The 34M is essentially an extension of Brabus’s automotive world at sea, only this time carbon-fibre spoilers are replaced by cabins, decks and nearly 6,000 kW of diesel power.
