McLaren is taking final orders for the 750S and will end production of the model in 2027. This will bring to a close a decade-long model line that began with the 720S in 2017 and continued with the 765LT and 750S.

750S brings the generation that began with the 720S to a close

The 750S launched in 2023 as an extensively updated successor to the 720S. Around 30 per cent of the car's components were new or modified.

The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 develops 552 kW and 800 Nm. The coupé has a kerb weight of 1277 kg, giving it a power-to-weight ratio of around 432 kW per tonne.

Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 2.8 seconds, and top speed reaches 332 km/h.

McLaren is still giving customers the opportunity to order the final cars with bespoke options from McLaren Special Operations.

788HS closes out the model line

The final and most extreme version of the 750S platform is the 788HS, with production limited to 200 cars, split equally between 100 coupés and 100 Spiders.

Its V8 develops 579 kW, and the car features extensively revised aerodynamics and reduced weight. The 788HS is not simply an optional equipment package for the 750S: McLaren considers it a separate limited-production model.

This effectively makes it the final chapter in the generation of V8 supercars that began with the 720S.

No successor has been officially announced yet

McLaren has not yet officially unveiled a direct successor to the 750S. However, the company has confirmed that it will continue developing mid-engined, two-seat supercars.

The next generation of powertrains will use hybrid technology, and McLaren has already confirmed that the new V8 hybrid powertrain developed for the W1 will also be used in other models in the future.

The departure of the 750S therefore does not mean the end of McLaren's V8 supercars, but the current platform and the decade-long model family are coming to an end.
